OFFERS TO PURCHASE
GOVERNMENT WOULD SELL

AUCKLAND, 6th May
The willingness of the Government to dispose of the motor vessel Maui Pomare, which is engaged in the Islands trade, is intimated in a letter received by the Auckland Chamber of Com-* merce from the Prime Minister. }•'
"Tho Government would be prepared to consider an offer from private1 enterprise to take over the Maui Pomare and to operate the present service with Nine and Samoa, subject, of course, to satisfactory guarantees being forthcoming that the service would bo continued as it is at present being carried out," said Mr. Forbes.
