A large party of Burma . rebels attacked a detachment of police near Prome, and it is feared, fhat the District Superintendent of -Police, Mr. Austin, and several officccrs anfl - men were killed. Three survivors, . who reached the police headquarters, stated that they wero surrounded and had no time to pick up their arms. A Burman officer, hearing the news, sot out with a large party of police, encountered sixty rebels, killed seven, and wounded many. ■ ; ,
