DAIRY BOARD
FAVOURED BY FARMERS
A South Taranaki remit exressing the opinion that the Dairy Produce Control Board had not justified its expenditure and urging an amalgamation of the various primary produce boards was heavily defeated at the meeting of the Dominion Executive of .the New Zealand Farmers' Union yesterday afternoon.
Mr. N. Campbell (Palmcrston North) pointed to tho savings in freight and in other directions which had been brought about by the board.
Mr. H. E; Blyde (North Taranaki) admitted that the board had done quito good work, but considered that a groat .deal of money.could bo' saved by the suggested amalgamation, and ~ any re-, ■presentations in regard to freight and •other ■ matters would carry greater weight. .. ;■•■ .:. .'■.■-.-., .
