Since yesterday there has been very little alteration' in the position of ilio pressure systems over and surrounding New Zealand. An anti-cycloue is still situated in the South, and a cyclones has remained centred to the north-east of Capo Maria. Strong southeasterlies have prevailed from Cook Strait northwards, while in the South Island winds have been mainly moderate and somewhat variable, although southerlles have predominated. The weather has been fair .In the western and southern portions of the South Island, but elsewhere it has been changeable with occasional showers, and temperatures have been cold everywhere.'
