NOTICES AT BLENHEIM
.Among thY acceptors for the Novice Stakes at the 'Marlborough Meeting on IPndajr there are four names that are uniamiliar to racegoers, as the horses that claim them have not previously started in a-race.. The four are Ridiculous, Specialty, Boundary Hit, and Miladi.,'.' ■ Ridiculous is a four-yoar-old brown filly by the Stonylnirst-bred Royal Stag (son of Autumnus) from-Leicester Square, a 1 mare by.Joculator (son of Absurd) bred in 1921 by Mr. J. Goring Johnston. Ridiculous will carry the colours of her own breeder, Mrs. N. B. Teschemaker, of Blenheim. .Specialty! is: a five-year-old, bay mare' by the Stonyhurst-bred Masterpiece (son of Clanranald, and full-brother to Glenowlet, .Xirriemuir, Gleheulloch, and Madam Madcap), from a mare by The Mohican (a son of the Maxim horse' Mauser). She is owned by the Waiau sportsman, Mr, H. W. I). Rogers.- ■ . : -.-.■-,:.; ' ■ Boundary Bit is a direct product of the Stonyhiirst stud, being a two-year-old chestnut filly by Winning Hit - (son of Autumnus) from the Antagonist mare Belter Skelter (the dam of. speedy Childsplay, and also of Wild Work and Sudden Storm). : She is a. thr'eequarter-sister to Childsplay,, Wild Work, and Sudden Storm, as all of these mareß were by Autumnus. She wao sold recently by Sir Charles-Clifford, and is nowownedby Mr. H. D. lieaman, of Spotswood, North Canterbury. •'•■■•.■ Miladi is another of' Mr. J. J. Corry's lengthy string, and" on breeding should be as speedy as anything that he has produced this season: She is a two-year-old bay filly by imported • Weatheryane (Bon of Lomberg )£rom that fast but unfortunately unsound Paper Money mare Frenzied Finance (a Minister to First Money). All the members of this family have shown torrents. ol speed,. but have totally lacked ability.to see out more than the shortest distances, and it will be interesting to ob-1 serve m Miladi whether the mating with Weathervane has nicked the strong staying- blood of his sire, the Derby winner Lemberg..-. Miladi,::..who cost Mr. Corry 60gns at the Trentham sales last year, will be bracketed with Croupier on Friday, and the pair-are, likely, to start at short OddS. ;;-.-, ■ : : . . . . ■
