LODGE MEETINGS
■The fortnightly meeting of Wildey Lodge Ko;lD7, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held last week,.Bro. C. E. Tanner, P.G., presiding. . Three members declared upon the sick fund and two members declared oS •tieifund, relative sick pay with general accounts were passed for payment. One candidate was proposed for membership; Reports from committees, together with financial statements, were adopted, showing :the lodge to have made good progress. Routine business having been concluded, the District Marshal entered the lodge as a.preliminary to the D.D.G.M. (P.G. Bro. <sr. Rudkin, P.C.P.) and suite installing the officers for the ensuing term as follows: — IP.G., Bro. Tanner, P.G.;. N.G., Bro. A. «T. Holding; V.G., Bro. W. R. Kelly; rec. sec, Brol W. F. Crombie, P.G.; R.S.V.G., Bro. R. Barrowman; L.S.V.G., Bro. J.W.Birchall; ;R. 5.5.,. Bro. W. S. Hammond; L.S.S.V Bro. H. Cook; 0.G., Bro. D. A. Howe; I.G, Bro. N. Catley; chaplain, Bro. The ■ installation completed, the lodge was closed to allow of ■foe usual installation 'supper •to be partaken of< The usual toasts were honoured; responses being made by the D.D.G.M., P.D.D.G. Masters, Bros. Jones, C;P.., Lee (Wanganui), Dames, Turner, Tanner, and officers of Southern Cross, Zealander, Cleyeland, Kupe, Maraenui, Muritui, Belle■vae, -Pyramid, and other lodges. Special reference was made to ■ the fact tliat Bro. Dames, P.G., P.D.D.G.M., and District' Auditor, was leaving' Wellington if> go 'North, and that his service to the district has beeii of a very high order. ThD D.D.G.M. presented P.G., Bro. Tanrss with a gold membership medal, and jP.G. Bro. E. J., Oxenham with a past grand's jewel for services rendered as i»Ctetary for the past nine years. During tti# evening' ah official visit was paid by tjje Chief Patriarch and officers of Port Nicholson Encampment. '" The- N.G., Bro. F. payment. " The Grand Lodge unemployed relief scheme came up' for discussion, and Bro. F. Mauger, N.G., J. M'Gregor, V.G., and J. W. Condlift'e, secretary, were appointed as a committee for the lodge. The case of a Napier brother requiring assistance was forwarded to Bro. Smillie, P.G.M. An invitation from Rose of Wellington and Zealandia Lodges to a social was accepted. Reports were received from the Finance Committee and the Dispensary Board. The Social Committee for' the ensuing term was appointed as follows:—Bros. A. Ryan, W. Meaclem, J. M'Gregor, R. Meech, and J. Kidd. Bro. A. T. West, P.G., was re-appointed delegate to the United Friendly Societies' 'Dispensary Board, and Bro. J. M'Gregor was appointed delegate to the United Friendly Societies' Council. ,' The fortnightly meeting of Esther Rebekah Lodge, No. 30, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held recently, Sister J. Tahiwi, N.G., presiding over a good attendance. Correspondence was read and received, and invitations were accepted. One candidate was nominated for membership. An official visit was received from members of Rahiri Rebekah Lodge. Sister I. Morrison, P.L.D.D.G.M., and suite installed the elective officers as follows:—l.P.N.G., Sister J. Sister Morrison presented Sister Hakaria with a P.N.G.'s certificate.
