The monthly meeting of .the New Zealand. Golf .Council was held on Monday, when there; were present: Sir Alexander Eoberts (chairman), Messrs. M. J. Crombie, A. D. S. Duncan, W. E.-A. Gill, W. A. Kiely, and G. 0. Sutton .(secretary).;. . . ' The Poraugahau Golf Club (Hawkcs Bay) was elected a member of the association, and it was reported that there will be three or four more clubs whose applications will be in by the date of the next meeting. , , In connection with the 1931 championship meeting at Shirley, Christchurch, 15th October to 24th October, a sub-commit-tee was set up to draw, up for the next meeting suggestions regarding prize money for professionals. , The secretary reported that a very large number of" clubs are opening subscription lists for the assistance of clubs which had suffered in the earthquake area, and that nearly 100 per cent, of the replies received had been favourable to the association voting up to £100 from its general funds towards the earthquake relief. It was decided to ask the captains of the .Napier, Hastings, and Parkvale Golf Clubs if they will'act as a committee to advise the association as to the losses sufiered by the clubs as a "result of the earthquake. Weekly reports from the association s travelling professionals show that they are having successful-tours so far, and there are quite a number of bookings ahead. The' council was pleased to receive a letter from the Hastings Golf Club indicating that they have definitely decided to hold their annual tournament as usual this year on 3rd, 4th, sth, and Cth June, and the council expressed the hope that in the circumstances outside golfers will give solid support to the tournament. Other tournament dates advised to the association are as follows:—Masterton Golf Club—Autumn tournament, 30th, 31st May, and Ist June; Timaru Golf Club—Annual South Canterbury championship meeting, 3rd June; Taumarunui Golf Club—Annual tournament for King Country open amatur "championship, 3rd June; Hamilton Golf Club—Waikato Winter Show Cup tournament, 3rd. June; Takapau Golf Club—Annual tournament, 28th and 29th August; Harewood Golf Club—North Canterbury amateur championships touranment, 29th and 30th August; Eotorua Golf Club—Eotorua open amateur championship and handicap tour'riamerit, 3"125 th,1 26th; V 27th;-' and' 28th; August"; Eotorua'Golf Club—annual contest for New Zealand Golf Veterans' Cup on handicap and handicap tournament; age limit 55, Ist, 2nd, and 3rd September; Waipukurau Golf Club—Annual tournament, 3rd, 4th, and sth September; Dannevirke Golf Club—Annual tournament, 24th, 25th, and 26th September; Wanganui Golf Club—Championship tournament, Ist, 2nd, and 3rd.October; New Zealand Ladies' Championship, Eotorua, Bth October to 15th October; New Zealand Championship meeting, Shirley, Christchurch, 15th October to 24th October; Gleridowie Golf Club, 2Gth and 28th September. ■■.''■.''■' -■■■
