LAND SPEED ATTEMPT
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, 20th April. It is not likely that Mr. Norman Smith -will make his attempt on the land speed record of 245 miles an hour at Ninety Mile Beach until next summer. There "was a suggestion that he would bring his car across from Sydney as soon as it was finished some time next month, but the Auckland Automobile Baiting Club, which has been authorised to handle the attempt on the world record, now proposes to write to Mr. Smith and advise him not to come to New Zealand until next summer, preferably in January.
