(Ecccivod 28th April, lO.a.mV)] SYDNEY, This Day* An organised attempt by Communists and others to gain admission and dis« turb Mr. Lyons's meeting in the Sydney Town Hall last night under th» auspices of the All for Australia League was thwarted by the police, but not before several baton charges and many; casualties on either side. A plucky constable discovered a group of would-ba disturbers secreted in a porch. Ho ordered them to disperse, when amid angry, shouts the whole gang set upon him, felled him, threw him into the roadway, and kicked him. An- inspector of police went to his assistance and also < received a heavy blow oa the jaw which eplit his lip. Police reinforcements soon ar« rived and chased the, ruffians.
