MAGISTRATE'S COURT

To-day's sitting of the Magistrate's Court was presided over By Mr. E. Page, S.M. For his third offence of drunkenness within six months, John Wynn, aged 65, was fined £1, in default three days' imprisonment. ■■"•.'- A sentence of one month's imprisonment was imposed on Henry Edward Larhaise Hall, aged 48, who pleaded guilty to a charge of being an idle and disorderly person in that he has insufficient lawful means of support. Sergeant Carmody said that the accused gave himself up .to the police on 21st April, and'he had been kept in gaol since in order to get the drink out of his system. A further period in gaol ■would be for his benefit.
