EASTBOURNE

Nominations for tho Eastbourne municipal elections closed at noon today. Mr. Sam F. Fisher was tho only nominee for Mayor, and so was elected unopposed. Nino nominations were received for the eight seats on the Eastbourne Borough Council. They were:— Ernest Norman Battersby, William Francis Hornig, Margaret Magill, Charles Arthur Bendle, John Frederick Bockstrow, Douglas Todd, Arthur Varnoy, Archibald Walker, Edward WellesIcy Wise. 'Mr. A. Walker was returned unopposed to the Eastbourne scat on the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board.
