: Every endeavour, is now to 7)e made by-the Government to bring the business of.the session to an end by'iriidnighf. to-morrow, according to a statc-,-mont mado in the House of Eeprcsentajtives by the I'riino Minister (the Bight Hon: G. W. Forbes) this afternoon. ; ■ "•..'■'. . \ Mr. Forbes said it was now not proposed to deal this session with taxa.tion legislation, -which it had been decided to-defer until the main session. Sufficient debate had taken place on the CFinance Bill (No. 2) to enable the remaining -stages of that measure to be disposed of to-day, and as the Select Committee on the Earthquake Bill had its report ready for presentation, the House could deal with the Bill tormorrow, and put it through. As thore was mot enough time to enable full information to" be' furnished regarding the Auckland Harbour- Bridge Bill, it also! would have to come up again next session.
