STILL FINE
GOOD WEATHER LASTS
An intense j anti-cyclone still continues, to aoniinate the weather, ■ and cool fair to file conditions have prevailed in nearly all; parts of the Dominion. A few iurther isolated showers, however, have! fallen in the East Capo region, in far northern and southern extremities. The light' to inoderato soufclorfy to easterly winds which have prevailed have tended to keep temperatures low, and last night inland frosts vere recorded in places. Pressure distribution : has not appreciably altered since yesterday. The anticyclone is still centred over the South Island and the [Southern Tasman Sea, with a belt of low pressure extending from the north coast of New South Wales to the northern part of the Dominion. All the ihief centres yesterday experienced fine- weather. "Wellington had its coldest night of the present year, the grass (minimum temperature being 31.7 dogries—just a frost. North of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura moderate southei|y to easterly winds will continue, ■ wi'jicls elsewhere being variable with solitlierlies predominating. Tlio presentjapoli of fiuo weather is likely to continue .for'the present, although a few shhvors are not unlikely around Gisbornl and East Cape and in tho far north] Temperature* will continue cool.
