WEIGHT LIMIT OF TEAMS
■ A keen discussion took place at the annual meeting of the Wellington Primary Schools'. .Rugby. Union over1 the question of the weight limit of teams, and, in particular the case :of _Rongotai College, which the committee, in its annual report, said it felt received' an undue advantage in numbers and .weight.;,-: ~ Speaking on behalf of: Rongotai College, Mr. Thomas .said he would agree, that the average weight for the senior competition should not exceed ,7st 121b, and the average weight for the fifth, grade sst. It. was decided that the weights should, re-: main as at present specified in the rules, but that the management committee should fix tho average weight in each grade. . • Approval was given to n recommendation that each school should supply a ; certified Jist :o£ players and their weights before the competitions commence,_ so thatthe committee could do the grading. •; A proposal.that the age limit be altered to 15 'years 'on 31st December preceding the animal tournament :was opposed. . The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. S. Hancox; vice-president, Mr A. Feltham; hon. secretary, Mr. h. H. Fisher; hon. treasurer, Mr. H.; JVrDonaid; hon. assistant. secretary, Mr^D. l. : Gardener; management committee, Messrs. L N.Ashton, N.F.Kigby,. J. Fleming, E G. Thomas, S. Duncan; hon. auditor, Mr Kidson; deleßate'to Wellington Kugby Union, Mri'B.H... Fisher. . , -Tho competitions are to commence on tho''first Friday after the holidays.
