ST. JUDE'S CHURCH

The annual meeting of the parishioners of St. Jude's Church, Lyall Bay, was held iq the Parish Hall on Monday evening. The vicar, the Key. A. T. B. Page, presided, and many parishioners were present. The annual report and balance-sheet were then read. The ■ vicar mentioned that he considered the balance-sheet a satisfactory one considering the conditions at present prevailing, and he referred to the launching of an appeal to enable the district to move forward to the idea] of Lyall Bay being made a separate parish. Reports and balance-sheets were also presented by the various organisations, and congratulations extended to them on the progress made. The vicar also asked those present to express, their thanks for the services of the churchwardens, lay readers, and altar servers.' During the past year there had been 12 baptisms; 14 boys from St. Jude's and 12 girls were confirmed, and; there were five weddings, and five burials.
