SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS.
An intense anticycloao now covers Isew Zealand but pressure is relatively low to the northwards, disturbed conditions being indicated along the northern border of the antii cyclone. A few. isolated showers have fallen in the Gisborne district and in the extreme north, but generally the weather has been lair to flno with cold temperatures. Moderate to fresh southerly to easterly winds have ruled in and north of Cook Strait, while in the South [Island winds haye been light and variable.
