The position of the Government Savings Bank of New South Wales, upon which there has been a tremendously heavy drain in recent months, was the subject of a special meeting of the State Cabinet to-day. The Premier, Mr. J. T. Lang, informed his colleagues that the Bank Commissioners contemplated amalgamation wilh the Commonwealth Bank, the terms of which were now under consideration.

Cabinet decided to approve of the amalgamation.
