AUTUMN BLOOMS

MIRAMAR FLOWER SHOW

Opened yesterday afternoon by th« Mayor, Mr. G. A. Troup, the Miramar Horticultural Society's Autumn Flower Show; showed a triumph of suburban gardener* over adverse elements. The weather of late has been none too good ,for the production of prize blooms, yet the stand* at the show were full of magnificent chrysanthemums, giant heads of gorgeou* dahlias, and a number of other gay flowers. The - vegetable exhibits were strikingly; good, and these, together with, a number of special exhibits, such as a miniature Japanese garden, made the sliow an unqualified sin-cess. Mr. Troup, who was welcomed by the patron of the society, Mr. A. D. Crawford, congratulated the growers upon their success, and said that to encourage the young people lie would donat* a prize .for the boy .and girl rearing most points in the children's section at th« next- show. The champion chrysanthemum was * "William Turner," grown by Mr. R. Algar. Mr. ,F."J. Burrell exhibited ( th* champion dahlia, "Flaming Meteor." The following is a list of the awards:— Eoses: C.
