HOCKEY COMPETITIONS

Enhies leceived by the Management Committee of the Wellington Hockey Association on Monday were as follows:— Senior A—Karon, Wesley, Hutl, Y.M.C.A., University, Wellington; senior B— Karori, Huia, Wes,ley, Training College,l Petone, Hutt, V.M.C.A., University (2), Wellington; junior—Karori, Huia, (2), Wesley, Petone, Hutt, University (3), Wellington (2); third—Karori, Huia, Wes-i ley (2), Petone, Hutt, V.M.C.A. (2), University (2), Wadestown, Technical Old| Boys, Technical College, Wellington; inter-1 mediate—Karori,- Huia (2), Wesley, Y.M.CA., Technical College. Last seasons tola] was 44, as compared with 47 this It was decided that the third grade teams should play one round only, and that the senior B and junior teams should also complete a rouud,and the fiist five teams play off in each case. Mr. H. Hatch was nominated by a majority of cluba for the position of sole selector of the senior representative team, and ho was accordingly appointed. _ > The New Zealand Hockey Association advised that owing to- the position in Austialia having become worse, the proposed tour of a New Zealand team this year had been cancelled. . Tho meeting decided to instruct the Wellington delegates to the annual meeting of tho N.Z.H.A. to recommend that the interchange of visits between New| Zealand . and Australia, be restricted to .intervals of five years. i
