OTAKI CLUB'S OPENING
Thc'opening day^f the Otald Golf Clulb,which should have been held on ilta ipril, was postponed owing to inclement weather till last Saturday. The occasion was the 30th aniversary of the founding of the Otaki Golf Club. The results of the competitions were a« follows:— _ Men's Long Driying—R. Jj. Brown, 237 yds 4in; J, Winterburn, 236 yds; D. 1* Milne, 209 yds; M. W. Higginson, 208 yds. t Ladies' Lonf? Driving.—Mrs. Winter* burn, 161yda; Miss Wills, 155 yds Ift; Mrs. Simcox, 153 yds lft; Mrs. Lethbridge, 140 yds. ,- Men's Approaching and Putting (i balls).—Holmes 6, Grey 6, Wmterburn 6, tied and played off, Grey winning with 6. Ladies' Approaching and Putting (2 balls).—Mrs. Simcox 7, Mrs. Lethbndge 8, Miss B. Scobey, Miss St. George, and Mrs. Wootton tied with totals of 9. Ladies' Putting (open to ladies who had; not won trophies in former events, including visitors) (2 balls).—Miss Koss 4, Misi D. Harper B, Mrs. Lethbridge 6, Mrs. Mac Donald 6, Mrs. A. Wilson 6, Mi«» there will be no club event on 25tr; April, Anzac Day.
