The National Bank of New'; Zealand is advised by cablegram from the National Bank of; Australasia, Ltd.,, Melbourne, today that .the board of directors of_ that bank have decided,, subject to audit, to recommend a dividend of 8 per cent, per annum'on both classes of shares for the half-year ended 31st March. The reserve fund is increased to £3,300,000, and bank premises have'been reduced by £50,000.

The. rate of dividend paid by the National Bank of Australasia, on the £.10 fully-paid and £8 paid-up to £s'last year was '9 per, cent. It is obvious that in the reduction of. the dividend by 1 per cent. Hie bank-is pursuing a sound policy in still further strengthening its reserves.
