MR. LUCKIE'S SUPPORTERS
An enthusiastic meeting of supporters of Mr. Martin Luclrie, who _ia contesting the Mayoralty, • was held in Nimmo 's Hall last evening. Mr. K. H. Nimuio presided over a good attendance of ladies and gentlemen. It was. stated by various' speakers that on. account of the yeoman and able service to the city rendered by Councillor Luclcie during his IS years oi continuous office, lie was not only qualified for, but had earned the position for which ho was .now .standing.'. ,; Whilst the meeting was of .opinion that the ratepayers would show their appreciation in no uncertain manner, at the forthcoming elections by returning him at the head of the poll, a strong executive consisting of Colonel Hall,. Captain Bishop, Messrs. B.H. Nimmo, IT. Hildreth, J. M. Dale, Kellow, Archibald, Jas. M'lntosh, J> Stafford, G. W. Slade, J. I. Goldsmith, and C, G. WUson. was set up to further his candidature. < Mr. -M. P. Luckie will speak at the Masonic Hall, Island Bay, -tonight, at 8 o 'clock. ■ • ; . ::•.:.= \
