STRATFORD, This Day. ■ ■In.dip. event of there.being a strike on the railway tunnel works at Tangarakaii, over the reduction in the wages of tho Public Works employees, the Mayor'of Stratford has. advised the Public Works Department that Stratford will be pleased to. give any assistance in its power, oven to the extent of organising other labour. < He explained to the council, last night that he had taken this attitude'because of the importance to Stratford of having the lino completed as early as possible.
