POSSIBLE CANDIDATES
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.1') •AUCKLAND, This Day. The by-election for, the Ha.uraki seat rendered necessary by the death of Mr. A. W. Hall will be the sixth held since tlie General Election in ■ 1928., The Others were caused by the deaths of Sir Joseph Ward, Sir Maui Pomare, and Sir George Hunter, the retirement of Mr. Jenkins through a- mistake in tlie rolls at. the General' Election at the Bay of Islands, arid .the appointment of Sir Thomas Wilford as HighCommissioner. ' . Then; will be. a number of candidates for the Reform nomination^ Names already mentioned arc those of Messrs. E. Walton and S. W. House, who previousIv sought the Hnuraki nomination. It is also suggested that Sir James Parr, late High Commissioner and formerly member for the old Eden . seat (now Auckland Suburbs) may be in the field. If Labour contests the seat, Mr. C. R. Petrie, the 192S candidate, will- bo the nominee. ■ Tlie United Party is awaiting word from Wellington. Mr. E. Allon, of Bucldand, was- the 1928 candidate. |
