The experience of tit least two leading clubs who have adopted the practice of fastening tho sling to the fore-end of the wooden part uf'the rifle proves the adage "Wo live and learn."- The Idea appears to be. au admirable one In that tho hand supporting the barrel can be brought right up to tho point of tills slim? attachment. Thus, if tho position of tho body and the arms is constant the sling tension will be tho same for each shot. If the idea induces increased steadiness of aim, doc* not subject. Hie barrel of the rifle to undua | strain, and keeps the .wrist free of the sllnj, a trial is well worth while. INTER-CLUB RULES.
