WEDDINGS
I The wedding was celebrated at tho Methodist Church, Brooklyn, recently, of Ann, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Carpenter, Dorking- road, and Jack, only son of Mrs. Slavin, Auckland. The ceremony was performed by the Eev. ,R. Raine, and Mr. Alan Gittings was at tlie organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore an ankle-length frock-of white lace with a tight fitting bodice and flared pieces forming small sleeves.. The skirt was fully flared, and her embroidered veil was .arranged to form a cap with sprays of orange blossom on either side. She carried a bouquet of lilies and roses. The bridesmaid, -Miss Nell Carpenter (sister of the.-. bride), wore a picturesque frock of pink lace, with a slim-fitting bodice, quaint bolero bodice, and long full skirt. A smart beretta of pink chenille velvet was finished with a satin bow to tone, and a bouquet of asters and lilies was carried. . She also wore a string of gold beads, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. James Carpenter was best man. On leaving the church the bride was presented with two silver horseshoes. A reception was held at tho "Eitz," where some fifty guests were received by the bride's mother, Mrs. G. Carpenter, who wore a handsome frock of brown crepe do clicne, and a brown felt hat with ospreys. , Her bouquet was to tone. The brido travelled in a, *'rock of nigger brown crepe doria, uiggcr brown velvet boretta, and a musquash' fur coat (the gift of^the, bridegroom). Mr..and Mrs. Slavin's.future home will be in Auckland.
The wedding was solemnised at St. James's Church, Lower Hutt, yesterday afternoon of Norah, second daughter of the -late Mr. and Mrs. ' Kingdon, Lower. Hutt, and Eoss, son. of Mr. and the late Mrs. P. M'Coll, Kelburn. Archdeacon Hansel! officiated. The brido wore a frock of beige lace, a long close-fitting bodice with initteu sleeves, attached to a dra!p'e'd skirt finished with a pearl clasp. She wore a blue picture hat and carried a- sheaf:of delphiniums. Dawn,,Yeres, the.bride's, small, niece, was the bridesmaid, and wore.,a dainty early Victorian frock of blue organdie, with a muff and poke bonnet finished with velvet and forget-me-uots. Mr. Gavin Meuzies was.best man. A small reception of relatives and intima.te friends- was held at.-the bride's ;home. Mr...and Mrs." M'Coll left for a tour, the bride", wearing a blue ensemble with .squirrel collar: and cuffs and smart blue beretta. .'
