QUARTERLY MEETING
At-the quarterly meeting of the Weslejr Church Board of Management the Rev, T. R. Richards presided'over an attendance of about 40. The Rev. R. Raine and Mr. B. M. Kirkland (missioner) were also present. . The circuit stewartjs (Messrs-' L. J. Clark and R. S. Maunder) congratulated the. Rev. T. li. Richards oil his recent appointment by the conference of the Methodist Church to the chairmanship of the Wellington.district. The report and balance-sheet showed » satisfactory position with a good credit balance. The sum "of £25 additional was voted to the earthquake fund. A committee was appointed .to confer with a special committee of the. Wellington Ministers' Association, which will meet the civic authorities regarding catering for the poor and the unemployed.' Reports of th«, Sunday school and young people's departments showed that the work in those departments was in a most encouraging condition. Miss Hodder, who has been iv America- and England for- some'1 years studying young people's work, had been appointed secretary of the young people* work.
