FIRE IN MINE
SERIOUS PROPORTIONS
(By Telegraph.—Press Association-.l} . •AVESTPORT, 18th April.. A fire of' serious proportions brokS out in the middle and fourth west gee* tions of the Westport Coal Company'sMillerton mine, and as a result flv«' men were more or less seriously burn* cd., " ' James Oman, Harold Smith, and Llewellyn Halls (burns about the face and arms), and Albert Woods (burns on the face and neck), were admitted ta the Westport Hospital. The fifth man, Webster, was taken to his home. A stopping suddenly gave way, and there was a ljurst of flame up where the men were working. The men scrambled into a ditch and escaped more serious injuries. Volunteers were called out to-day to combat the outbreak.
