FLOWER SHOW.
One of the features of the Flower Showon AVcdnesday and Thursday iv the Town Hall will be a stand of rhododendrons, 20 x 20. grown in pots, m full bloom. Such a'stand has uevev previously been shown in this district. A very fine stand of palms and flowering plants will also ho shown, from the earthquake area, the nurserymen there finding that their local trade and shows are gone for the time. In hydrangeas, a stand' on a large scale of the newest and best is promised This will contain many varieties new to New Zealand. While it is a late season for chrysanthemums this popular flower will be much in evidence. Iho Miss Hose Joseph trophy for the best display from the suburban societies, Mr. IS. Sutherland's trophy for best 12 chrysanthemums, and Mrs. Enox Gilmer s trophy for best collection of cut flowers m six vases, will also be competed for. Entries close to-morrow.
