Stake-money amounting to £5550 was distributed by, the ' Canterbury Jockey Club at its recent meeting, and 31 owners participated. Most successful owner was Mr. D., P. Wilson, who was represented at the meeting by Black Duke and Wise Choice, his winnings amounting to Otlier, owners-to!.win over £500. were I Sir' Charles' Clifford," for whom Cricket Bat and Ball 'Dress: .earned £720,' and Mr. G. Norman, £140. " The' trainers' list was headed by D. P. Wilson (Wincatui), who had four wins with Black Duke (twice) and Wise Choice (twice), the next being S. G. Ware, also of-Wingatui, with two wins. Those with one success were: F. Davis (Woodville), H. E. Russell (Woodville), R. C Keeper (Orari), T. Pritchard (Otaki), H. Nurse, F.. D., Jones, H. and A. Cutts, R. W. Kings'■-]?-.■ - Christmas, and J. B. Pearson (all of Riccarton).

Honours among the riders were confined to seven horsemen: A. Eastwood and A. E. Didham.; each recorded four wins; G. Humphries, E.-M<iclcie, and A. E. Ellis : .rode two winners each; and single successes were credited to T. Green and W. H. Jones.
