NEWSPAPER'S ERROR
Application has been made in the Lord Chief Justice's Court on behalf of Alfred Arthur Rouse —who was then still to be tried at Northampton Assize on a charge of murdering an unknown man whoso burnt body was found in House's car near Hardiugstonc, Northampton—for a rule nisi calling on the editor, printers, and pulbishera of the "Daily Herald" to show cause why they should not be committed for contempt of Court in respect of a newspaper contents bill issued on Bth January, says tho "Daily Mail." Mr. Finnemore, for Rouse, said the contents bill contained the words, "Another Blazing Car Murder." In tho paper there was a description of what was alleged to be the murder of a young woman in the north of England. Mr. Finnemore submitted that everybody sow saw the contents bill must have taken the words, "Another Blazing Car Murder," to mean that tho case in which Eouse was due to take his trial was, in fact, a murder, whereas tho main issuo which the jury would have to ccdidc was whether in fact there was any murder at all. It was likely to prejudice tho trial. Lord ITcwart sfiicl a rule nisi would bo-granted.
