NOTES FROM HAWERA

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") HAWEBA, This Day. Hawera stables will be represented at Auckland, Wairarapa, and. Pending for tho. Easter racing. . " -. . . . ' 0. Cox takes Reremoana and the two-year-old Hampden to Wairarapa, and both should run well in their engagements. Hampden is a notoriously lazy worker on the tracks, and Reremoana' invariably heads him off; but he is a different proposition in a race, and with the topnoteh two-year-olds engaged elsewhere he will have to be considered. J. Brown has Chief Link and Silver--, mine at Auckland, and both are in splendid fettle. The pair galloped seven furlongs before leaving in a tick under Imin 30sec. Silvermine ran third last year, and has a great chance of improving on1 that position on Saturday. The pair will probably remain for tho Avondale Meeting. Bright Glow, Airtight, and the_ two-year-old Peter Jackson ; comprise J. layer's team for Ellerslie, and now that the rain has removed the sting from the track Bright Glow can be expected to show, some of the brilliancy of which she is truly capable. Airtight' is always a possibility at Ellerslie over the big country. M. Conway's team for Feilding includes Royal Acre, Miss Sheff, Bon Eve, and possibly Joyspear. W. Pine takes Calamine, Tentcall, and Goldzone. J. Fryer will send Green Linnet, Paitonu, and Goblin Market. G. Edgecomb has Richfield, and R. Brough may take Orby's Choice down for the second day. Royal Acre is at his best just now, and will have a good following, in the hurdle races. Miss Sheff has made a good recovery and is galloping well again on the tracks. W. Broughton is to ride her. . . . Paitonu has improved with nis racing, a,nd is expected to make a bold bid for the Manchester Handicap. He is nicely handicapped, and, with the sting out of the ground, should run his best race this season.
