PROGRAMME SELLER ROBBED
A sentence of two months' imprisonment was imposed on Alexander Vivian Love, labourer, aged 24, by Mr. E. Page, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court to-day for stealing 20 programmes valued at 14s 6d. Sub-Inspector Lopdell said that the accused in' his statement to the police involved two" others in the offence, but they had not been identified; The boy from whom the programmes were stolen also said that there were two others besides Love.' According to his own statement, the accused . and two others were in the vicinity of the Kilbirnie Stadium one night when a dirt-track contest was being held. The accused stood in a badlylighted position, andiwhen the programmeseller went over to him Love caught him and placed his hand over his mouth to prevent him calling out. The boy dropped his programmes, and also some money. After ho had road Love's statement Mr. Page said it was clear that the accused was party to the offence. He had a number of convictions, including theft, mischief, and disorderly behaviour, dating from 1922. : ■
