DASTARDLY THIEVES

ANOTHER AMMONIA CASE

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post") DUNEDIN, This Day. An outrage similar to the attack on Mr. Thompson, manager of the North Dunedin branch of the Bank of New Zealand, yesterday morning, occurred in the evening when Mr. H. Wimpenny was attacked at Wimpenny Bros.' service station at the corner of Portobello and Anderson's Bay roads. Two men arrived at the place, and one went in and made inquiries about some electric light bulbs from Mr. Wimpenny. The man then produced a syringe and squirted ammonia in Mr. Wimpenny's face. Fortunately Mr. Wimpenny was wearing glasses, which saved his eyes. Mr. Wimpenny rushed at his assailant and pushed him, but the man and his companion made good their escape.
