MISSING AIR LINER

FEELING OF DESPAIR

MYSTERY UNSOLVED

(Received 31st March, 11 a.m.)

MELBOURNE, This Day.

A feeling of despair prevails at the Bssenifin-Aerodrome. Even KingsfordSmith, whose optimism and .energy have l-ovived flagging hopes and spirits, now feels that there is little likelihood of the Southern Cloud being found. The fires reported near Omeo turned out to be bonfires lit by campers. There are persistent rumours of a wing being seen in Port Phillip Bay, but these are not confirmed.
