RIDER FOR SILVERMINE
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") HAWBRA, This Day. J. Fryer will be at Ellerslie at Easter with Bright Glow, Airtight, and the two-year-old Peter Jackson. On account of the hard state of the ground Bright Glow was1 not started at Awapuni, but her last work out here was. impressive. Airtight is to run in the .steeplechase .and..is-a. possibility, as he negotiates the country well. Peter Jackson pleased at Awapuni, and as he is on the" improve all the time he will have plenty of local support in his engagements. J, Brown leaves to-day with Silvermine

Goldzone Ims recovered from her injuries and is working in good style again. Calaniine is in splendid condition, and will be well fancied in ilie 'Manchester Handicap. I!. Broiißh luul bad luck in setting liis horse, Orb.v's Choice, galloped on at Awapuui, but the youngster is all right again, and may be found running atJVeilding. Koyal Acre run about his best races at Awapinn and will be at iiis peak for his next outings. Bon .Eve, Joyspoav, and Uasnapper, in the same stable, are booked for Fcildiug. All are in nice condition. O. Cox's programme with Rertmoana and Hampdcn has not yet been definitely decided upon. Galloping on Saturday was done on the plough track, which was in good order. Chief Link, Awaken, and Teutcall were companions over .six furlongs. The firstnamed, with ait advantage at the start, made iUa running throughout and beat Tentcall by half a length in Imin ]7%see. Awakens display was disappointing. Koremoana had no difficulty ,in beating the lazy track worker Hampden over four furlongs in 51% sec. Denier schooled well over eight fences. Bon Eye and Goldzone sprinted three furlongs. The latter, obtaining a break at the jump off, which Bon Eve was unable to recover, ran her three furlongs in 38%-spc. ' ' Silvermine liacl Calamiae as a companion in a gallop over seven furlongs. The pace was evenly maintained, the first half being run in 5-Hfcsen, and the full distance in Imin 30% see, Calaniine just shading Silveilmine at the post. Calamine's effort, even allowing that he carried a very lightweight, was impressive. Joyspear and Gasnapper were on' even terms at the end. of five furlongs, run in Imin S'/isec.
