SPORTS STADIUM
ATHLETIC MEETINGS
The president .(Mr. A. C. Kit to) of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre has received a letter from Mr. G. Mitchell, manager of the Wellington Winter Show, Association, notifying tho centre that tho Show Association would be glad indeed to consider any offer tho centre might make for the use of the sports stadium at the Show Grounds, and giving assurance of tho association's very best endeavours on the centre's behalf. Tho first meeting at the stadium was to bo held this afternoon by the New Zealand Union of Cyclists. Although the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centreis in no way connected with this organisation, it possibly has been suggested by somo, that the centre's meeting, at Athletic Park this afternoon could have been arranged for somo other date instead of clashing with the cycling _nxturc. It was pointed out this morning, however, that tho date of the centre's meeting was decided upon some weeks ago, and that the Winter Show_ Association months ago promised to inform, the centre when tho stadium at the Show Grounds would be usoable. The terms entered into with the New Zealand Union of Cyclists were announced at the Show Association's meeting on Tuesday night, and tho letter from the Show Association to - the _ Athletic Centre's "president has only just boon received. ■ ■ • . Tho Show Association's invitation probably will be considered at the next meeting of the Centre executive.
