VERY OPTIMISTIC

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, This Day. An amount of £509 was raised by the Plunket Society's street appeal yesterday. The secretary (Miss H. E. Partridge) is optimistic and says that the figures may not be final, because one- person had given a ticket in an art union and there was a chance that the final proceeds might be £.2500 instead of merely £509.
