The northern cyclone, has passed away eastwards and an intense anti-cyclone has moved on to, the Dominion, with its centre in the South. Winds liave continued stronß from between south and south-east in ami north of Cook Strait, hut thence southwards llfe'llt to moderate sontliorlies have given place to variables. The northern and eastern districts of the Xortli Island have experienced .much rain yesterday and last night, and scattered showers also fell on the cast coast of the.South Island. The% western districts from Taranaki southwards, on the other hand, liave had fair to fine weather, and by this morning, except for some showers along the east coast between Cook Strait and East Ciipe, a fairly general improvement had taken place. Temperatures, however, are still cold everywhere.
