SKY SIGNS
(To the Editor.)
Bir,—-In refutation of the siatcnieiits nuide by your correspondent "Iviwi," in "TJic Evening Post" of 23th March, wo will be glad if you will publish the following facts. Claude Neon Lights of New Zealand, Limited, which is doubtless (he .company referred to by your correspondent, is a New Zealand company, registered in Auckland, with a capital of £00,000, and there is -not a dollar of foreign capital in the company, nor has there ever been. The impression that we are an American company is probably duo to the fact that when we first commenced operations, we imported a complete staff of American technicians to teach oiiv own men the best methods of manufacture, erection, and .service; to-day there is not a single American on our pay roll, and pur displays are completely manufactured in New Zealand by New Zealanders. Referring to "Kiwi's" remarks on our "flagrant breaches" of the city bylaws, we wish to positively declare that in no instance have we transgressed a council bylaw, and that we have had no preferential treatment from the City Council at any time. Furthermore, there is no bylaw in Wellington limiting the height of sky signs to 12 feet. Our structures are designed by competent structural engineers, and have invariably been approved by the City Engineer.—We are, etc., G. O. SUTTON, Local Director. KOY HAKIMS, Wellington Manager.
