HUTT V. WAIRARAPA

The second annual match between the Hutt Valley and Wairarapa primary schools' cricket representatives was played on the. Hutt Recreation Ground yesterday, and resulted in an easy victory for the home team. Batfciag first, the visitors were dismissed for 51, Smith (16) and Pool (14) both giving a good exhibition before they were clean bowled by Kemp. Hutt, with seven wickets down for 130, declared, and Wairarapa in • their second venture collapsed, scoring only, 24. Kemp, who took five wickets for 5 runs in the first innings and live for 11 in the second, and Capstiek, three for 28 and five for 11, were responsible for the downfall of the visitors. Capstiek, 32 not out, Kemp 31 batted well for Hutt, whilst • Donaldson (three for 20) and Wiugfield (three for 11) bowled well for the visitors. The fielding of both teams was excellent, Sim, Freeman, and Donaldson (Wairarapa), and Kemp and M'Carthy (Hutt) being outstanding. . Afternoon tea was provided by the local players, assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Balks and the Hutt Central Girls. During the tea interval the visitors were welcomed by Mr. H. Miller, who spoke of the great value o£ such visits. Mr. G. Gold-man briefly replied for the visitors, and Mr. D. M'lvor, the sole selector, congratulated the boys of both teams on their display. The Wairarapa boys, who liavo been the guests of the Hutt Valley boys during their stay, return home this afternoon. -
