TROTS AT HUTT PARK

TO-MORROW'S OUTLOOK

SEASON-S FINAL MEETING

The Wellington Trotting Club holds it final meeting this season at Hutt Park to morrow, and, given good weather, the fix ture promises to be one oE the best o£ tli season. The classes for the various event have been well arranged, and the club ho, succeeded in attracting a good list oE ac ceptances for all the races. A number o young pacers, who have been showing im proved form, are engaged, and it will be in teresting to see them competing agains each other, while there is a capital he], in the chief event, of two wiles, and i: the fast sprint race. The following is the programme:— 12 in_ATITUMN -NOVICE HANJUCAP, or 11 soys; 4.2 class; otic mile and fire furlongs. Arthur Chimes .. set Hou 3n" Tpstcr kit ydsblicl iioldcn Oaks ■". sit licyal J'arado .n> Gold Spear scr Nyallo Kilk 3'i J[urchimcs sit >'leet Arrow .. 3l> Komanos : scr Jiighland Derby .60 Royal Parade, who was -second at Tim

aril and at Cheviot, looks likely to start favourite for the Autumn Novice Handicap. He is only a three-year-old, however, and the extra distance may trouble liim. f Fleet Arrow runs his best vnec.H on the course, and Nyallo Silk may do better than at his last effort. Kon is too unreliable to be supported with any confidence. Best may be Royal Parade and the i'leet ArrowKomanos bracket. 12.5ii—MATCCH lUXinC.U', ct' I'jO Eors; fir tmhopplcd Lrntlors; 8.53 class; ono mile and five furlongs. - l.en BlnRCIi .... Kfr Miss Li'dn. .... «« Biddy l'urriah .. srr NeLson J'iirrisli . «x Blno arid Gold .. sr-r i^ra (Mccv si-r Great Ciloc an- Silurian scr Mcrco Kinsen .. scr There is a. useful lot; of trotters in the March Handicap, which ■will be a scratch event, as all an; on the limit of the handicap. The Jlawkes Bay gelJnig J3eti Bingcn, is a useful .sort, who is gradually settling down to go steadily throughout Ins races, and his win at Ashhurst on Wednesday, for which lie has incurred no penalty will 'bring him into favour. Biddy Parrish is on the top'of her form, and won the Tcimika Handicap in fine style at Timnru. Blue and Gold, wlio is trained on the track, has some form to recommend lipv, but she is not always reliable. Great Glee, who is trained at New Brighton, has improved a good deal of late, and may race well. Since coming from Southland Mcrce Bingcn has hardly raced tip to expectations. She had every chance at Timavu, where she finished third to Biddy Parrish and Lough Guy in the Temuka Handicap. Miss Lcda will probably find the opposition too good, but Nelson Parrish is solid and a line stayer. Sea Queen is not racing well-, nor is Silurian. Biddy Parrish and Ben Bingcn look like taking a part in the finish. I.IO—ARMSTRONG HANDICAP, of 323 60V3; i. 40 'class; two miles. - Bonniowah .... scr yds blid Major Llnd .... scr Dillon Logan .. 24 Real Girl scr Baron Bingcn .. 38 St. George scr El Direct .... 3G Tumatakuru .. scr Mister Pointer .. 3(i yds blul Purser 48 llappy Land 12 Cranlclsli 00 Zelln 12 There should be a line race in the Armstrong Handicap, as a number in the field are showing improvement at present. Bonniewah won on the course in January, but is now in much better company. Major Lind is best over a shorter journey, and Tumatakuru is somewhat unreliable. Real C4irl won decisively at Timaru over a mile and a quarter, but. there is no reason why .she should not stay, as she has always finished well. St. George had a very easy win at Timarn over two miles, in imiu 40 ■sec, and is now on the same mark. St. George and Real Girl seem the best of the limit division. Happy Land is an improving pacer, who won the chief two-mile event at the last meeting on the course, going 4min 36scc, and he is now on a 4min 39see mark. Zella has been racing fairly well, but Happy Land should beat her from the same mark. Dillon Lpgan looked a great possibility over the distance, but since competing in two-mile events he has not raced- well. Baron Bingen gave promise of going two miles,.-but he disappointed badly at Tiuiaru. Xl Direct does not stay well, and Mister Pointer has yet to prove his ability to go two miles. Purser is a good stayer, and Cranleigh went a fine race at Timaru, where he was just beaten by Milo Minto, covering the distance in imin 30 2-ssec. llappy Land and Real.Girl may be in the places. 2.2J>.—WAIWBTU HANDICAP, of 150 soys; 3.56 class; one mile and five furlong?. Achray scr • .. yds bhd Arklow scr Manco 12 Fleet Arrow .. scr Russell Pointer . 12 Highland Derby . scr Jewel Elect 24 Hula Maid cr Kevinbrae 2-1 Koyal Parade .. scr Oxford Queen .. 24 yds bhd Willie Derby .. o« Logaleen ...... 12 -Llewellyn 48 There is quite a useful field in the Waiwetu Handicap. Fleet Arrow and Royal Parade are in a slower race over the same distance earlier in the day, and possibly Highland Derby will race best cf the limit division. Logaleen won on the course in January, and she is improving in stamina. Manco, who comes from Hawkes Bay, is a good stayer, and showed improving form by running third in the Manawatu Trotting Plate. on Wednesday. Oxford Qneendid not see out the journey of two miles at Cheviot, and may race better over the shorter distance,. while Willie Derby should also race well, as he finished fast in his race at Cheviot. Logaleeh and Oxford Queen may dp best.:.. 3.IO—TAITA'HANDICAP, of 115 soys; H. 5 class;, one mile and a quarter. Arthur Chimes .. scr Worthy Star .. scr Free Logan .... scr yds bhd Jester. scr... lean Parrisb.... 12 -.Gold. .Spear..-. .„.,. sec ..Windshield-'- ..... 12 Romanps scr Slogan . ....... 24 -Ron .!.... <... scr "Nyallo Silk ... 36 Victor-Kyle .... scr--- ; .-; ■ ..' ' Free Logan shoiild'do well in the Taita Handicap. Worthy Star did not race well at -Cheviot;- but -he- showed ..speed in patches, and the race should do him a lot of good. . Windshield has some speed, and Slogan, at' the last meeting, gave indications of a return to form. Nyallo Silk is well suited to the distance. The field does not appear to be a very strong one, and Free Logan and Nyallo Silk ■ may occupy places. 3.SS—PALMER HANDICAP, of 200 soys; for imhoppled trotters; 4.52 class; two miles. Blue and Gold .. scr * yds blid Great Way scr Biddy Parrish . 12 Merce Bihgcii .. scr Great Glee .... 12 Peter Eyre .... scr Miss Lcda .... 24 Silurian scr Ben Biiigen .... 21 All the trotters in the Palmer Handicap, with the exception of Great Way and Peter Eyre,'arc engaged in the shorter distance race earlier, so the running in the March Handicap may give an indication as to the winner in the longer race. Great Way, who hais not been long in work-, went a fine race at Timaru in the Temuka Handicap, failing in the final stages. The race should have improved him, and he looks hard to beat off the Jimit. If he makes a good beginning; he should account for the race. His hardest' opponents read to be Biddy Parrish, Great Glee, and Ben Bingen, who has been penalised to 24yds. A likely pair are Great Way and Biddy Parrish. 4.4O—RECOVERY HANDICAP, of 200 soys; 2.53 class; one milo and a quarter. Bonniewah scr yds bhd Belle Lorrlmcr .. scr Brent Zoloclc .. 12 Loiterer sr;r Dillon Logan .. 24 Lough Neash ... scr Happy Lund .. 24 Major Lind scr Zclln 24 Native Hero ... scr Mister Pointer .. 48 Somerby scr There is quite a smart field in the Recovery Handicap.' Belle Lorrimer, Major Lind, and Lough Neagh read well off the limit, with a preference for the first-named, who is on the improve at present. Stonier-, by has nol; been working well of late, but Brent Zolock has a lot of speed, anc he put up a fine race when ho finished second to Dillon Logan in the Electric Handicap on the same course last month. The pair started off the limit, and Dillon Logan, who won by a couple of lengths, now has to give Brent /Mock 12yds. Dillon Logan should also do well in this race, as1 he is a speedy ijacer, and may beat Happy Land from the same mark.; Mister Pointer wijl be racing over his favourite distance, and he is not out of the contest from 48yds. Brent Zolock and Dillon Logan read attractively. 5.23—AU RKVOIIt HANDICAP, cf 150 soys; 2.50 class; one milo and a quarter. Achray scr Windshield scr Becky Do Oro .. scr yds Mid Blue Glen scr Clicnan-ay 12 Capilano ..... scr Glcnlalic 12 Fleet Arrow ... scr .Towel Elect ... "0 Russell Pointer .scr The largest field of the day is in the An Revoir Handicap, there being twenty acceptors, with twelve on .the limit, -blue Glen is a quick'beginner, arid'she may ge a position ear.ly, which will be a decided advantage. Becky do Oro is speedy ' but she has not raced for ;some time, and she may requite a race- or two before she is at her best.. Pointal does not stay, and Wee Logan is.in-a slower class earlier in ' the day. • Chotiaway is a very speedy i three-year-old, iuid from 12yds he may bca i all in front of him. Logalecn and Oxford ■ Queen also seem. to ,be well-placed on i 12yds.' Ciionaway ami Logaleen Jook ■ like fighting. out the. finish. _ I
