CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS.

On Saturday next the local sporting fans will be treated to one of the finest cycling meetings ever held in this city, taking place at the new banked cycling stadium at the Winter Show Grounds, commencing at 2 p.m. Sjeating accommodation has been built for four thousand people, and there is seating room on the banks for eight to nine thousand others. Splendid entries have been received from both local and provincial riders, including Jack Foote (three-mile champion), Billy Bray (road champion for three years), G. Stavcley, L. Roberts (Auckland crack), D. Evans, and C. I'lett, who is making a reappearance alter a long retirement. .Among the many B grade riders the following well-known riders will be seen in action:—Ulmer, Homes, Higgs (Levin), I'nniiington, Shildwick, and many others. Reference to the charges, etc., can be found in the advertising columns.
