HUTT HIGH SCHOOL
The monthly meeting of the Hult Valley High School Board of Governors was held last evening. Present: Mr. H. G. Teagle (chairman), E>. A. Hivcn, P. Robertson, H. Sladclcn, J. Stonchousc, and M. V. Dyer. The board expressed satisfaction with the levelling of the {.-round being done by men supplied by the Unemployment Board. In regard to the granting of school raliway tickets to pupils from Koro Kovo, the Kailway Department had stated that as the pupils were taking a course which could be taken at a nearer school —the Petone Technical School—they were not entitled' to the privilege. The principal reported that several of the pupils were taking a third year matriculation course, and he had requested the Department to review its decision, as there was no third year course at Petone. In reply to a request of the board for manual training facilities, the Department of Education asked how many pupils wanted manual training and whether it would not be possible for such pupils to go to the Petone Technical School. The principal reported that it was not desired to give technical training, and the manual training was only such as the Department had advised as necessary for all pupils.
