WESTMINSTER BANK

BIG LOAN MATURING

SECRET NEGOTIATIONS

(Received 26th March, 10 a.m.)

LONDON, 25th March,

A conference at Australia House between Mr. J. E. Collins, Sir George Fuller, and a representative of the Westminster Bank, regarding the £5,000,000 duo to the- bank on 31st March, resulted in the matter being handed over to Mr. Collins as sole negotiator. The strictest reticence is observed, but there is a strong feeling that there arc good prospects of the bank agreeing to an arrangement to see the three States over the difficulty.
