Mr. . Claude M. Haydon, Mus. Bac, L.A.B.i has just received cable advice from London that his pupil, Mr. F. Haydn Rodway, L.A.8., has been awarded an exhibition entitling him to at least two years' free tuition at the Koyal Academy _of Music, London. At a recent examination for the licentiate of the Associated Board (solo performer), Mr. Rod way secured 181 marks out of a. possible 200, while in the written qualifying paper he gained 148 marks out of 150. This latter aggregate of marks, it is stated, constituted the highest record of marks so far obtained in jNei£ Zealand.
