THE BRIDAL PROCESSION
With Easter just round the comer, iind the month of marriages drawing near, it is no wonder that the bridal procession at the D.I.C. yesterday attracted the . crowd it did. Henriette, the famous mannequin, made a lovely bride, and her six attendants were certainly chosen with a view to keeping the whole picture, like tlie modern costume, ensemble. At half-past _ three the bride, dressed in ivory satin with long silver lace veil, orange blossom, ,-i.ud bouquet complete, descended from a beribboned car at the front doors and preceded by her four bridesmaids, crossed the crowded pavement and entered the building. Her train was carried by two charming small girls m early Victorian costumes of ivory satin, the sliort-waistoil bodices finished with l-.crt.hns and puffed sleeves, the long fall skirts tucked to the hem. Their poke-bonnets were of gauged ivory velvet, very becoming, and in keeping with the dresses.
Tlio bridesmaids were in long modern dresses of floral taffetas, pink, blue, peach, and green, and carried large sheath bouquets to tone. Their large hats were of felt, in pastel shades to match each dress, trimmed with velvet ribbon, which also tied the bouquets. This most attractive group was born up to the first floor by the escalator, and met again by an admiring crowd, a slow progress round the tea rooms bringing the little entertainment to a conclusion on the stage from where I-lenriette has been showing the present season's models for the past few weeks.
It is an interesting fact that the dresses worn in the bridal procession are all from the inexpensive dopartnient of the D.1.C., which is making a point of meeting the present financial conditions in the most helpful possible manner.
The procession will be repeated again to-day and to-morrow. (Published by arrangement.)
