CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS.
On Saturday next the local sporting fans will be treated to one of the finest cycling meetings ever held in this city, taking place at the new banked cycling stadium at the Winter Show Grounds, commencing at 2 p.m. Seating accommodation has been, built for four thousand people, and there is seating room on the banks for eight to nine thousand others. Splendid entries ' have been received from both local and provincial riders, including Jack Foote (three-mile champion), Billy Bray (road champion for three years),,G. Staveley, L. ! Boberts (Auckland crack), D, Evans, and , C. Flett, who is making a reappearance aftor a long retirement.
