HUTT PARK TROTS

TRAMING NOTES

Conditions were good for training oporatjons at the Hutt Park this morning. The grass track was in. use, and some interesting work took place.

Brent Zolock and an unjiamed maiden were sent a milo and a quarter. Brent Zolock was far too good for his mate. Ho is very well, and everything points to him running a great race on Saturday.

Zella, not looking very bright, was given an easy time while jogging Several rounds.

Slogan, who does not appear to be right, was jogged on the cinders. He was then given a round on the grass track, which he got through in. patchy

plenty of solid work without making any impression. Glenrossie and Purser were sent a Solid mile and a half. Purser, pacing nicely, led throughout in the neat time of 3min 31sec. Tho last, half took lmin 9see. It was a good effort on the part of Purser, as Glenrossie is a horse of class. Lady Fan was sent a mile and a half, being picked up by Genuine at, the mile and a quarter. Lady Fan, trotting in attractive manner, had the better of the work-out. The full distance took 3miu 4lsec, the. last half lmin llsec. Genuine has been worked in saddle recently. He is down to contest the saddle race at Christchurch at Easter. Blue and Gold was worked - two miles. She did not hit out really well at any part of it, and was blowing at the finish. The full journey took srain 14scc, the last half lmin 14sec. Maxegin, looking in good condition, was out doing solid pace work. This brilliant trotter will mako his nest appearance at the Christchurch Easter Meeting. Jean Parrish was doing some useful pace work. This filly looks a really, good sort. Chinaway was given an easy time, as ho had a race at Manawatu yesterday. His'track work had boon.so good that he was expected to run a good Tace in the Mnnawatu Plate, but on the day he gave a shocking display, and k is hard, to understand. He ma3r, however, make amends in the near future, for there is no doubt he is the goods. The Manawatu Meeting held yesterday provided some excellent sport. Some of the horses engaged have shown some good form. Native Hero rgn second in tho Manawatu Plate, and the improving Manco was third in the same race. Ben Bingen, a trotter, ran-away from the pacers, in the Longburn Handicap. He is engaged among trotters on Saturday, and looks like a hard one to beat. Huia Maid, who is improving with every outing, was a good second to Ben Bingen. By winning the Stewards' Handicap Jewel Elect proved that her win at the last meeting was no fluke. She is a vastly improved mare,, and may work her way into fairly good company. Golden Oaks, who is engaged in the Novice Handicap, went a fine race when finishing second to Jewel Elect, This effort was a really good trial for a novice race.
