WANGANUI RESULTS.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile offered 2645 bales at Wanganui. The wool opened up in fair condition, but unfortunately a large percentage was spoilt through being seedy. There was more lambs' wool included at this „ sale than at the previous one, and prices for this class showed a big advance. Comparing prices generally with those ruling at Wellington last week, there was little or no change, but comparing them with the last sale in Wanganui, they can be quoted 2d to 3d higher for fleece wool. Bellies, pieces, and locks were about 2V2d dearer, and lambs' wool was quite 3d dearer. It was evident from the start of the sale that farmers had decided to meet the market, with the result that passings were negligible. The firm's best price for fleece wool was O'/sd, realised for 13 bales halfbrcd AA, branded C over Tangiwai, on account of Mr. D. P. CulHnaue. An offering of 2650 bales was made by Freeman R. Jacksou and Co., who got up to 10% d for good romney lambs, and medium lines from Slid to fld. Pieces, bellies, crutchings, and locks realised extreme prices. One line of pieces brought G%d, and bellies 5%d, and one interlotted line of crutohings made Dd. "We sold 98 per cent, of our catalogue, growers meeting the market freely at the advanced prices, and taken all round to-day s sale must be considered a fairly satisfactory one, although prices are still very much below the cost of production.
